t’s a great way to combine online and offline marketing, and it’s a great way to advertise your internet business. Subscribers to Jamie Oliver’s newsletter get emails with videos in them. This is for his YouTube channel.

The odds are, if you’re reading this right now, it doesn’t sound all that remarkable.

In truth, it seems to be a really simple concept. It was brand new at the time.

Video is now pervasive.

  • However, YouTube isn’t the only game in town these days. Currently, there are four competitors: Vimeo, Vivo, Daily Motion, and Twitch.
  • Many websites and email newsletters include video content.
  • Webinars may be viewed life or rewatched at any time.
  • Hangouts, GoToMeeting, and Facebook Live, are all using these services to connect with our friends and family.
  • We’re all uploading videos from every imaginable source on every available social site.

There are some eye-opening stats from Cisco to look at:

  • Seventeen percent of Internet video traffic will come from live video by 2022. Up to 15 times more people will watch the live video by 2022.
  • From 2017 to 2022, the amount of Internet video on T.V. will triple. By 2022, 27% of fixed consumer internet video traffic will be video sent to a T.V.
  • By 2022, consumer video-on-demand (VoD) traffic is expected to more than double. Within a year, 10 billion DVDs a month of VoD traffic will be generated.
  • By 2022, I.P. video traffic will account for 82% of all I.P. traffic worldwide, up from 75% in 2017. From 2017 to 2022, I.P. video traffic will double by four, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 29%. There will be a 33 percent compound annual growth rate in internet video traffic from 2017 to 2022.

In other words, video isn’t going anywhere.

First and foremost, you need to undertake extensive research before making a video to discover what is currently out there.

  • What are some of the most popular videos on YouTube?
  • What are the most popular posts and videos on social media?
  • What distinguishes them from the rest of the pack? To access this information, you may use Ahrefs’s Content Explorer or BuzzSumo.

It’s important to keep in mind that the amount of links your videos get is not the only way to gauge their performance.

If a video only receives three backlinks but is posted on Twitter 500 times and seen 5,000 times, then four individuals who are interested in your product or service will contact you as a result.

Bring a Fresh Perspective to the Discussion

With videos, originality will always be a top priority.

There are several ways to make your films stand out from the others.

To sell your gardening services, you may want to produce a movie on the tallest or longest-lived rosebushes in the country or develop a video series where each film is based on a distinct area of the country.

When planning a party, don’t forget about the importance of having decent music and lighting. I know that seems absurd, but I’ve watched many low-quality films in my time.

People won’t watch you if they can’t see you well or if the audio is too low or distracting background sounds.

You should ensure that your videos are viewable on mobile devices. With so many people relying on their mobile devices, we can’t ignore this. Make it simple for others to share your videos.

Assuming you’ve put the video on your website, you’ll need to ensure that YouTube does this for you as well.

  • Every day, more than a billion hours of video are seen.

There are two out of three video results for a “pruning roses” search on the first page of S.E.R.P.s that are YouTube results. In many situations, all three results are from YouTube.

If you don’t have a video on your site, you’re missing out on a lot of S.E.R.P. real estate and, in my view, a lot of potential links.

Investigate YouTube’s Search Engine Journal. There are over 6,800 subscribers and hundreds of videos available right now.

In my opinion, this is some of the best stuff I’ve seen in my time as a writer for Search Engine Journal. My goal as a link builder is to provide high-quality content.

There are ten YouTube channels for the term “Search Engine Journal” in the S.E.R.P.s, as seen in the screenshot below. So it’s a terrific method to expand your brand’s footprint on the first page of search results.

For every video, there is an opportunity for a link. Here, we’re all about links, so this is why.

Why Is Using Video So Beneficial?

A website’s content may be made more engaging by using videos. When you’re looking to establish a connection that will lead to a link, each of these resources might be helpful.

Create and make available playlists as educational materials. Sites, where videos are embedded may include transcripts and timestamps.

Search engine results pages (S.E.R.P.s) may show these videos in a conventional or video search.

In your email newsletter, you have the option of directing your readers to certain videos. Everyone will be aware of your new series immediately.

In your next video, you may ask viewers what questions they want to see your answer.

The Skyscraper approach, where you locate a piece of content, improve it, and then reach out to the individuals who connect to the original material, is a terrific strategy if you want to stand out.

An Explanation of the Concept

A few months back, I was a part of a video in which I spoke about link building the old-fashioned way. On YouTube and Siege Media’s website, there is Siege Media’s continuing series collection.

First, portions of the videos were published rather than the complete program, and they were released weeks apart before the entire show was revealed.

It’s possible to segment a video into smaller, stand-alone segments and then repurpose the whole thing for marketing purposes.

There are timestamps, which are helpful for those who want to get straight to the point. The timestamps of the two videos are connected.

There are Show Notes, which summarize our conversation and links to our social media accounts. The social media sharing buttons are there in front of you.

Each episode includes a link to the podcast or the brand’s YouTube channel. To keep visitors on the site, there are more internal connections.

Everything comes together to provide a fantastic user experience. That’s a good topic to keep in mind, as well.

It’s not only about gaining links to your videos when you’re trying to develop links with them.

Even if that occurs, the goal is to use videos to draw attention to relevant material so that it may then be linked to.

To wrap things off, here are another one of my quotes:

This form of link development isn’t a good fit for certain niches. It may be a terrific strategy for a fashion site to acquire more visitors, but not for a retirement benefits website. Some of your target audience members aren’t very active on social networking platforms just yet.

That isn’t the case now.

From what I’ve seen, social media and video have become powerful marketing tools for almost everyone.

Seeing how swiftly things change is awe-inspiring.

Summary

Timeframe: I’d anticipate at least one link a month, but I’d also want a slew of social media shares. I anticipate at least ten links in the first six months.

The following results were found: You may expect to see some type of conversion within a few hours after deployment, whether it’s a form submission or an email inquiry. My prediction is that the video will rank well for relevant keywords within a month.
